A TWISTED REALITY – EXCERPTS

The crowd applauded with a standing ovation, except for Margo who sat with her arms folded glaring directly at her daughter, who smirked directly back at her. It was a small, silent ‘fuck you’ victory for Lyla.
As she walked back to her seat on stage, Lyla noticed him standing near an exit. He was wiping tears from his eyes. She blinked to refocus to be sure it was him. When she looked up again, he was gone… almost as if he was a figment of her imagination.
Why would he be here? He left me! Mom told me he said I wasn’t good enough for him, and he didn’t want anything to do with me!
She was completely distracted while every student received their diploma, including hers.

“I reached over to kiss her good-bye. Kissing her hurt. Just the thought of good-bye, knowing any good-bye could be the last was always looming over me as long as I was still a soldier. After a tender and passionate kiss, we stared into each other’s eyes, I asked her, ‘What am I going to do with you, Izzy?’ ‘Just love me, Alex. Just love me. Because as difficult as it is to admit, I’ve never been in love like this. Just be patient with me.’ She finished kissing me with no other words spoken, just a sweet, promising look in her eyes, which left me heartbroken.”
Aksel had tears rolling down his cheeks and stopped talking. Dr. Ritzius couldn’t tell if he had anything more to add. He asked, “Alex?”
“No, it’s gone. I can’t see anything else. But it still hurts. Deeply.” Aksel eyes were still closed.
“Then we have more sessions ahead of us. After reliving that heartbreak as clearly as you did, then it’s not the one we’re searching for to assist in your healing.”

Wrapping up the conversational therapy Dr. Lebow said, “Honestly, Aksel sounds like a saint, for one thing. And as far as reprogramming, it really is something that we need to explore further through regression. The root of all issues begin somewhere. We just need to unearth them.
“Then let’s regress! I’m ready to trust him.”
“I will guide you, but as we spoke about with past life regression, the Master Spirits allow you to see what you need in progression. When they feel it’s time, we’ll get there.”
“Even if I say I’m really, really ready?”
“Lyla, I wish it were that easy. Your mind may say that, but they know your soul. Do not be disappointed if it takes a few more sessions. Trust is a big issue. Let’s begin, shall we?”
